WISCONSIN LUMBERJACKS ANNOUNCE SIGNING OF POWER FORWARD, JOEY PACANA

Spooner, Wisconsin (July 31, 2019) – The Wisconsin Lumberjacks are pleased to announce the signing of Joey Pacana for the 2019-2020 season.

Pacana, a 6’4” 200lb. forward product of the Milwaukee Jr. Admirals AAA program, marks the 17th recruitment for the Lumberjacks 2019-2020 season. The team is pleased to secure a high-end player out of an elite developmental program for the upcoming season.

Pacana spent last year with the Milwaukee Jr. Admirals U18 AAA, where he registered 20 points in 50 games for the club.

Joey had an extremely positive experience during his visit with Head Coach Doug Lein back  at the end of May which saw the two spend several hours skating and chatting one on one down in Chicago. That session helped make his decision an easy one. “Getting a chance to be on the ice and interact with a coach is great. It lets you see the potential relationship as well as a coach’s style and vision. Knowing the amazing facilities that the Lumberjacks have and how the town has embraced past junior teams made it a great fit. Playing in that building in front of what I’ve heard are the best fans in the CJHL, will really give an extra drive and excitement to play. I attended several tryout camps throughout the summer and I came full circle with this opportunity. I look forward to getting to Spooner and laying the groundwork for a great season,” said Pacana.

Coach Lein had these thoughts on the Pacana signing, “I couldn’t be any happier then I was when I got the phone call letting us know that Joey intended to sign with our club. Another guy on our team that played with Joey in the past is how he got on our radar. I’m friends with his AAA Admirals coach and George had all good things to say about the young man. After spending time with him early in the summer, I couldn’t have been any higher on signing a player than I was about Joey. He is the type of player that comes along and you see a world of possibility within the right developmental environment. Through many conversations I believe Joey is a guy that comes in and has the ability to have an immediate impact on our lineup.”

The Wisconsin Lumberjacks organization would like to welcome Joey and the entire Pacana family to our organization and look forward to following seeing him grow and develop in Spooner this season.
