FORWARD KAYLE BOCKEN SIGNS WITH LUMBERJACKS FOR 2019-2020 SEASON

Spooner, Wisconsin (August 1, 2019) – The Wisconsin Lumberjacks are pleased to announce the signing of forward Kayle Bocken for the 2019-2020 season.

Bocken, the Monticello, MN product, played as a defenseman throughout his high school career, registering 17 points in 43 games while playing for the Northstar Christian Academy U18 team. Prior to the 2018-2019 season Bocken played two years of Minnesota State High School Hockey for Monticello High School. Bocken helped lead Monticello to back to back Minnesota State Tournament appearances in 2017 and 2018.

Lumberjacks Associate Head Coach Garrett Hendrickson had this to say about the signing, “Bocken and I skated together at a camp I was coaching. He stood out to me in a lot of ways. He does the little things right and can wire the puck. We started talking about his plans and I felt we might be a good fit for him and if he was interested in making the switch to forward. We see him more as a defensive minded forward with a strong ability to find the back of the net. He’s a high character guy who will fit well in our program. Bocken plays a physical up and down game and I believe he will turn some heads this season.”

“I chose Spooner because of the coaches and the facility! The coaches really showed me that their number one priority is helping their players become the best men/player we can be on and off the ice. The way they explained how the program will be run really got me excited. The facility is awesome and gives me everything I need to be able to improve. When I went to check out the facility I instantly saw myself playing there. I’m looking forward to playing with a new group of guys and playing some great hockey this season,” stated Bocken on his signing.
