The Spooner Civic Center
The Spooner Civic Center is a 90,000sqft. full service community hub. Featuring an NHL size sheet of ice. The Ice arena features seating for roughly 1,200 seated fans and another 2-300 standing room only. A full-service beer garden is located within the arena on the mezzanine level. As you enter the main level of the building you will find easy access to team offices, concession area, and merchandise stand as well as elevator access to all levels of the building. Staying on the main floor, the Civic Center houses a 3,500sqft. full service bar and restaurant and a 3,500sqft. event room. The building in its original configuration housed an Olympic size swimming pool that is currently undergoing repurposing and being turned into a turf/dryland training facility. Locker room space for both home and away junior teams, home team mud room and lounge as well as office space and a locker room for the figure skating club can all be found on the ice level.
Moving downstairs, you will find an 8,000spft. multi-purpose gym facility. With over 60 machines and training tools in place, this portion of the building is a hidden gem for all of the teams and groups that call the Civic Center home.
Lastly, we move back upstairs to the mezzanine level where the 6,000sqft. ballroom is located. This multi-use room plays host to a wide range of events and can be utilized in many ways. Adjacent to the ballroom, you will find the office space for our USA Hockey youth organization, Spooner Area Youth Hockey. Also located on this level is a ΒΌ mile walking track, 4 youth hockey locker rooms, storage and access to the press box.
