Sioux Lookout Defeats Wisconsin

By Tanner Schafer

Spooner, WI – It was a very comfortable Friday in Wisconsin for the Sioux Lookout Bombers as they did not give up a goal for the first 55 minutes of the game on the way to a 6-1 victory.

The Bombers established control early more than doubling the Lumberjacks shots in the 1st period 15-7. But it took more than half of the period before the Bombers broke open the scoring. Connor Burke found the back of the net on the power play to make it 1-0. The goal was assisted by Blake Burke and Owen Riffel. Despite heavy pressure Sioux Lookout was unable to score again in the frame.

The 2nd period is where the Bomber blew the game open. Only 3 minutes in, Blake Burke found the back of the net assisted by Kaden Veller and Connor Burke. Halfway through the period Sioux Lookout found 2 more goals within 50 seconds of each other. Cedrik Robidoux scored the 1st with Kaden Veller scoring the follow up. The Bombers would carry their 4-0 lead into the final frame.

Bradley Thompson opened the 3rd period scoring 5 minutes with a power play marker assisted by Ty Kirk. Almost 10 minutes later Connor Burke would score his 2nd, the last goal of the night for the Bombers making it 6-0. With 5 minutes left in the game Dillon Phillips would score a power play goal to bring the game to its final score 6-1.
