By Tanner Schafer

Spooner, WI – It was a dominant performance for Bombers netminder Jack Osmond stopping all 25 shots to lead his team to a 4-0 victory.

The 1st period was the most competitive of the entire weekend series. The Lumberjacks went down early due to puck handling mistake by goalie Rylan Freshwater that gave Owen Riffel a free unassisted goal. The marker came less than 2 minutes into the game and was the only one of the period. The period finished with Wisconsin outshooting Sioux Lookout 10-9 but neither team found the back of the goal.

In the second period Sioux lookout started to take over the game. Despite upping the pressure they didn’t find the back of the net until a blocked shot in the defensive zone allowed Connor Burke to spring Owen Riffel on a breakaway who beat Freshwater on the glove side. Less than a minute later the Lumberjacks got caught leaving their zone too early and after another turnover Jonah Smith made the game 3-0 with the help of Tait Howell.

As the game headed to the 3rd the Bombers comfortably cruised to a win allowing only 3 shots on goal by the Lumberjacks. Wisconsin tallied only 5 shots on goal in the 3rd periods of this weekend series. Sioux Lookout also added an insurance goal on the powerplay after a Blake Burke pass found Connor Burke wide open in front of the net for a one timer.
