Dryden Dominates Wisconsin

By Tanner Schafer

Spooner, WI – Game 2 of the 3 game series between the Wisconsin Lumberjacks and Dryden GM Ice Dogs was never much of a contest with Dryden controlling the game from start to finish on the way to an 8-2 victory.

Determined not to start slow for the 2nd consecutive game Dryden got on the board 1st scoring less than 2 minutes into the 1st period. McLaren Postal scored the goal with assists going to Max Roby and Eli Antoine. Halfway through the frame the Ice Dogs would make it 2-0 on a goal from Ryland Maier. Kaden Postal would bring the Lumberjacks back within 1 less than a minute later, but an unassisted Max Roby goal made the score 3-1 heading into the break.

McLaren Paulsen also started the scoring in the 2nd finding the back of the net 7 minutes in and his score gave Dryden a commanding 4-1 lead. Wisconsin would answer back for the final time again a minute later as Collin Baker found the back of the net bringing the game back within 2. Back to back goals by McKale Paul and Eli Antoine before the end of the period put the game out of reach.

Carson Devine and Max Roby would both add insurance markers in the 3rd period as the Dryden GM Ice Dogs coasted to victory. Dryden outshot Wisconsin 51-35. Liam Vanderkooi saved 33 of 35 in a winning effort. Jakob Barcelona and William Forrester teamed up to make 43 saves in the game. Dryden GM will look for the 3 game sweep as the clubs play again on Sunday.
