SIJHL Year End Awards: Most Valuable Player

By Tanner Schafer

Over the next couple of days, we will be announcing our players of the year. Teams nominated their own players and then it went to a vote between the clubs and media members with teams unable to vote for their own players. That being said, let’s jump right in.

The SIJHL Most Valuable Player Award goes to Ryder McMillen of the Wisconsin Lumberjacks. McMillen led the league in scoring wire to wire finishing with 71 points on 29 goals and 42 assists. He averaged over a point and a half per game all season long. McMillen was also a mainstay on special teams with 7 power play goals and 13 assists with the man advantage. The Lumberjacks forward also showed up when his team needed him in the clutch scoring 3 game winners. He is snagged an honorable mention for Forward of the Month in December. McMillen’s massive scoring output makes him the league’s Most Valuable Player.
