Spooner, Wisconsin (JULY 25th, 2019) – The Wisconsin Lumberjacks are pleased to announce the signing of Nathan Mueller for the 2019-2020 season.
Mueller, left handed, stands at 5’11” 180lbs. a 2019 graduate having spent the last three seasons as the starter for Buffalo High School in Buffalo, MN. Over the last three years as the starting goalie for the Minnesota class AA Buffalo Bison, Nathan posted a 1.99 GAA and a .923 save percentage all while starting 68 regular season games.
Doug Lein, The Wisconsin Lumberjacks Head Coach and General Manager had these comments when asked about the signing of Mueller, “Nathan comes in with big time consistency over his high school career. He’s a guy that has come up through a solid youth program in Buffalo and I know how well the Johnson’s run the Bison’s High school program. Those guys put a ton into their players and it shows with where Nathan is in his development. Our Assistant GM Garrett Hendrickson gets a ton of credit on this one, he put in the hours on the film and did the leg work scouting and recruiting Mueller.” Lein added. “I think Nate can do big things and I believe Spooner is a place where he will look back and say that we were a positive step in all of that happening. He makes us a better club from minute one. He brings in a work ethic that I think you have to have if you are going to move on and play at the higher levels. I don’t profess to be a goalie guy but I’m smart enough to know when I see a guy that has the ability to come in and take the net, stand on his head and take care of business.”
Mueller not only comes in with three years of Minnesota state High school experience, he boasts the resume of being selected to the group of 54 for the CCM High Performance in back to back years, 2017-2018 and again this past season for 2018-2019.
“With the skill set, experience and work ethic that Nathan brings to the club, we just added a big piece of the puzzle,” added Garrett Hendrickson, Assistant GM.
When asked about choosing the Lumberjacks, Muller had this to say, “I chose the Lumberjacks because I liked how the organization and their management presented themselves. I look forward to creating a strong competitive culture within this new organization. I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity the Lumberjacks have given me and I look forward to a strong, successful season.”
The Wisconsin Lumberjacks organization would like to welcome Nathan and the entire Mueller family to the Lumberjacks organization.
