LUMBERJACKS ADD CADE MORELAND TO INAUGURAL ROSTER

Spooner, WI-The Wisconsin Lumberjacks have added forward, Cade Moreland to the 2019-2020 Roster.

According to Head Coach and General Manager, Doug Lein, Moreland is a player they’ve had their eye on for a while. Lein stated, “I’ve been watching Cade since his sophomore year. When Garret Hendrickson, our Associate Head Coach and Cole Jackson, our assistant Coach came on board and both of them being Range guys, I asked if they knew Cade. Both have strong connections with Moreland and his family. This is a big signing for us. We feel Cade is a guy that immediately makes us a better team.”

Moreland, who hails from Virginia, Minnesota, was a big-time producer in the Minnesota State High School League with Virginia High School scoring 46 goals and 52 assists for 98 points in just 62 games.

While he boasts a scoring pedigree, Coach Lein says he expects a two-way game from Moreland.

“He’s another piece that makes us a bit deeper at both ends of the ice. I know that he’s a guy that will be able to add offense, but he’s not coming just for that. He is going to be a guy that we expect all around contributions from.”

When asked why he chose The Lumberjacks, Moreland had this to say, “It made sense. The team has a strong Minnesota feel to it and that is a style that I know well. The facilities and coaching are what I was looking for to continue my path to play college hockey and I can’t wait to hit the ice this fall.”
